Our reciprocating compressors and diaphragm compressors as well as mills and classifier systems have been in operation for decades. Our portfolio therefore also includes the revamp and modernization of systems, plants and machines from NEUMAN & ESSER as well as other manufacturers. In this way, we support our customers in meeting changing requirements, e.g. changed operating conditions. In addition, revamp and modernization can help to increase efficiency, save energy and improve service life and availability.
To detail the conversion measures, we first develop the best solution as part of an engineering study in close cooperation with the operator. To do this, we use our own design tool KO³ (compressor optimization software version 3). With the help of KO³, the compressor and system components are checked and designed for the new requirements. Following the detailed engineering study, the customer receives a binding offer for the retrofit.
Machine and ATEX Guidelines
The Machinery Directive and the ATEX Directive are considered accordingly within the applicable EC legislation. A risk analysis is carried out to determine whether the revamp is a significant change or not. Customers appreciate this expertise in revamp and modernization projects, which, in addition to planning and retrofitting, primarily consider the implementation of customer-specific requirements.
Essentially, the main reasons for revamp and modernization are as follows:
adaptation of compressor performance (Rerating)
adaptation to changed process parameters (Reapplication)
installation of modern energy-efficient control systems (Controls)
optimization of existing systems by pulsation studies, torsion analyses, FEM, etc. (Verification)
Our tailor-made revamp and modernization concepts for mills and classifier systems are based on detailed system observations. They are available for NEUMAN & ESSER and third-party systems and focus on:
