NEA 6-throw Crankcase

See how 3D geometries of a six-crank recip are generated automatically out of NEA’s design program KO³.

The nearly 50 tons crankcase is completely machined on the 6-axis drilling portal. The main center line is then checked for perpendicularity and coaxialty - down to 1/100 mm.

The NEA customized cylinder designs are subject to hydraulic strength and tightness tests under harsh conditions. Best prepared for their later “3 processes-in-1-recip-use”.

NEA piston rods are thread-rolled with subsequent QC checks to handle 1,700 kN rod load and guarantee highest strength and load capacity of these key parts during operation.
